Facebook recently released \'Order Food\' feature which is available only for the US citizens. It allows users to order food from the nearby restaurant without leaving the Facebook.
Alex Himel, Facebook\'s VP of local said in a press release, “We\'ve been testing this since last year, and after responding to feedback and adding more partners, we\'re rolling out everywhere in the US on iOS, Android, and desktop.” He further added, "People already go to Facebook to browse restaurants and decide where to eat or where to order food, so we\'re making that easier.“
"From local spots to national chains, Facebook connects you with old favourites and new discoveries in just a few taps. You can even check out what your friends have to say about a restaurant before you order your food."
Facebook combines food delivery services directly with chains such as " EatStreet, Delivery.com, DoorDash, ChowNow, and Olo," along with "restaurants like Jack in the Box, Five Guys, Papa John\'s, and Panera. If the users already have an account on aforementioned services, they can utilize their existing login details at the time of ordering food via the Facebook app.
To avail the new service added by Facebook, users will be required to tap on “Order Food” section on the Explore Page. From there, users will be able to browse restaurants and then click on “Start Order” when the user fixes what they want.
Social Media giant, Facebook has been testing the \'Food Order\' feature from last one year. Presently, the new feature being added by Facebook is available only for the US citizens. Users can avail the new feature on various platforms such as desktop, iOS, and Android.
