Apparently, the feature-rich smartwatch: Apple Watch has challenged the leading manufactures of smart wearables to bring more uniqueness and modernization in their creation. At this place, the internet giant: Google seems more influenced, and added a new attribute to its Android Wear platform, called Find My Phone option in order to make Android-based watches more functional and cutting-edge.
To recall, this noted corporation had introduced Android Device Manager in 2013, which is basically an App and helps the consumers in finding their misplaced or lost phone. Notably, this system locates lost devices associated with Google account, whereby users can reset device screen lock PIN and they can erase all data on phone to secure their personal information.
And now, Android Device Manager supports Android Wear platform, which will capacitates wearers in finding their smartphones. As per Google, they can search for their missing handset through their voice by saying "Ok, Google. Start. Find my phone." or by selecting the "find my phone" option in Start menu of Android Wear device. After this, when device will be mapped with Android Device Manager, it will start ringing at full volume till the time wrist-worn is in range.
Here, company has stated in a blog post "Today we're making Android Device Manager even more useful by introducing support for Android Wear to help you find your lost device. Misplaced your Android phone? No problem! Android Wear connects your phone to your wrist, and together with Android Device Manager, you can make sure it stays that way."
As yet, a specific date for this update has not been disclosed by corporation, but Google has affirmed that folks won't need to download any application to enable this novel feature and Find My Phone option will roll out to all Android Wear based smartwatches in coming weeks.
