HP Ultra-Thin Chromebook 13 G1 Launched in Two Variants

HP has unveiled a lot of Chromebooks till now, and it looks like the PC maker has no plans to stop just yet. The organization as a part of the collaboration with Google on Thursday launched its another Chromebook 13 laptop dubbed the Chromebook 13 G1, priced at $499 (generally Rs. 33,200) for the base model. It is listed on HP's US website, and will possibly go on sale this month.

HP Chromebook 13 G1 sports a brushed anodised aluminum body

Taking a close look at the Chromebook 13 G1's specs configuration, which boasts a brushed anodised aluminum body alongside the HP's polished notorious logo, it's hard not to see the similarity of the product with Apple's 12-inch MacBook. It even bears USB Type-C ports and no Ethernet port. It carries a weight of 1.29 kgs, and measures 319.9x219.6x12.9mm, which is more sleek and thin than the 13.1mm Apple MacBook however, the MacBook is lighter with a weight of 0.92 kgs.

HP claims the business-ready portable laptop is 'ultra-thin' and includes a few security applications to ensure crucial information. It's also asserted to have the "main docking answer for a Chromebook", which empowers the tablet to control dual-HD display, access wired systems, and all the more charge gadgets with the increased number of USB Type-C ports the HP Elite USB-C Docking Station offers.

HP Chromebook 13 G1 offers 13.3-inch full HD Display

The Chrome OS-running Chromebook 13 G1 highlights a 13.3-inch full-HD display giving 1080x1920 pixel resolution with anti-glare support. It also arrives in a QHD+ (1800x3200 pixels) resolution display too. On the insides, the laptop packs 6th generation Intel Core M processors or the Intel Pentium 4405Y SoC clubbed with up to 16GB of RAM and supporting Intel HD Graphics 515 GPU.

The metal Chromebook 13 G1 houses 32GB of inbuilt storage along with an HP TrueVision HD webcam for video calling support. In terms of connectivity and network, the Chromebook bears 2 USB Type-C (USB 3.1) ports, a USB Type-A (USB 3.1) port, double band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/air conditioning, and Bluetooth 4.2. Even the keyboard is backlit fully and offers touchpad and multi-motion support.

The HP Chromebook 13 G1 gets powered by a 45Wh Li-ion battery. In the full-HD display mode, the company states that the battery can run for 11.5 hours and one of the highlighting factor of the new Chromebook is that it's dual audio speakers are powered by Band and Olufsen Play tech. The users would also get a number of free accessories along with the product that majorly includes HP Elite USB-C Docking Station, HP Slim Ultrabook professional top load case, USB Type-C to HDMI adapter, USB Type-C to VGA adapter, and USB Type-C to USB 3.0 and DP adapter.
