India to Have its Own Linux based OS: BOSS

It is a great news that Government of India creates its own Linux based operating system which they referred as BOSS (Bharat Operating System Solutions). This action of the Indian government makes an alert to the Chinese hackers for visiting at the Indian Government website.

A report states that it has exposed the vulnerabilities in the cyberspace. The Government of India has decided to work upon its own operating system and replace all the operating systems on which they are currently working on.

This new operating system is developed by the C-DAC (Center for Development and Advanced Computing), a highly improved version of BOSS (Bharat Operating System Solutions) will be introduced and discussed in the meeting of Union Home Ministry this week.

From the last three months the newly built operating system was put under the trial, and has successfully able to fended itself from all kinds of attacks, including intelligent attacks which is planted by the Indian army, who was given the task to attack on it for testing its vulnerability status.

After examining this, it answers to the government that they have a fully secure network. Fresh unique codes to the system have been written for the operating system, the source code that makes it safe and secure.

According to the Snowden reports, India is the mostly inspected nation by the US intelligence agencies. While the countries like China, which are carrying out R&D to inspect the attacks by having the technologies like Smart dust, Nano technologies and AI. But India is still lagged far behind to having this type of technologies.

BOSS OS

Now, the time has come when India can take an important move to get ready in this direction by having the use of its own OS, as both the individual computer as well as the networking can be taken care by it.

As per the reports, the new Linux based OS has been developed with the help of Gujrat Technical University and is totally undertaken under the DRDO and the private computer experts to enrich all the features for the simplicity of Microsoft Windows. Government of India has decided to adopt the open source software.

The government of India for the further development of the OS can collaborate with the industry giants later to create an open source OS along with their hardware and network systems to promote individuals and other entities to move from other OS.
