Instagram Rolls Out Peek Feature in its Latest Update

Not long ago, Instagram brought their original 3D touch feature that enabled the users to view the image simply by long press and also allowed them to like and comment on the same at an instant. The feature got instant popularity among all the users. Now with the onset of 2016 Instagram has again rolled out a new update dubbed as Peek feature.

Instagram is a pretty popular photo sharing network, this fact gets concrete since even Facebook bought it for a billion dollars a few years ago. And post the collaboration between the companies, the service has continued to get bigger and bigger. What makes it more popular among users is that it's completely free and there are no in-app purchases and in the latest updates user is allowed to add Android Headlines as well for all types of good stuff.

The 3D touch feature disappeared from Instagram a few weeks ago since it got replaced by the aforementioned Peek feature. As long as the user is using version 7.14.0 he can long-press on an image and peek at it, without loading up another page. However, when peeking at the image, the user won't be able to see the number of likes the pic has, or the caption/description or even the comments on that picture.

Once the user has taken a sneak peek at a picture, he or she can release the screen, and the image pops back to its original self. The feature so far has been rolled out to only selected users by far, similar to what Google does quite often with their apps. Though there is no clue as to when the rollout will be available to all, however, we expect it soon. Instagram did roll out this feature previously but pulled it back stating security reasons.

Another news that is making rounds these days is that quite recently the photo-sharing app revealed its list of most-liked photos of 2015 and Meredith the Cat (Taylor Swift's pet) stars in two of the top 10, along with a handful of other superstars.
