Microsoft Let Developers to Create Universal Apps for Windows 10

The Redmond giant is unexpectedly has opened the gates for developers to create apps for Windows 10 Universal platform. Microsoft has made the first technical preview of the Windows 10 developer tools available to create apps. You can check the available tools at Windows Insider.

The company has also provided the sample code to develop universal app along with the tools to help devs. As announced earlier, the single app will run on all kind of devices, including PC, tablet, smartphone, and Xbox One. This preview will guide them to build app for all screen sizes. They need to be optimized according to touch and keyboard.

Guide for creating Windows 10 Apps

To start creating such apps, developers need to be register on Windows Insider Program and then require to install the latest preview build to get access the Universal App platform. Downloading the Visual Studio 2015 CTP6 and SDK tools for Windows 10 will help in development.

On the other side, launch of the Windows 10 is set for summer. So, there is enough time for developers to modify old apps according to the new universal app platform and create apps for the new environment. Earlier we expected that the tech giant will bring the developer preview in April, but they made all the assumptions wrong by making the developer preview tools available from today.
