Tech giant Google as launched a new Identity platform for the secure signin in the 3rd party apps easily and safely as well. The platform comes with 3 tools namely, Smart Lock , Google Signin and My Account for different purposes. Detailing the Smart Lock, it has an integrated password manager for the users to help sign in into android apps automatically. It also support the auto fill of credentials and asks to save the passwords for future as well. It has been used by Google internally, it is only now that it has been extended for the 3rd party apps as well.
Talking about Google Signin, it allows users to securely connect with a 3rd part app using the Google account and has made popular it by quoting the line “do sign-in the right way.” Also a report in New York Times has reported that there is significant increment in number of users who signin using the Google account. Well, this tool is my personal favorite too as it makes the login very easy.
The last but not the least is 'My Account' dashboard which tell every single step required to know about privacy and security settings. It'll also tell users that what Google is accessing from their profiles and accounts. It seems quite fair for all who are concerned about their privacy. Nevertheless, all these 3 tools are looking quite beneficial for the general population to use.
