The company has announced during a Reddit AMA that it is ‘currently working’ on the latest update for their flagship smartphone. Pete Lau, CEO, OnePlus has also posted a video clip on Twitter, showing Nougat Logo on OnePlus 3 smartphone.

The Android smartphone currently runs OxygenOS based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is priced at Rs 27,999. It features a 5.5-inch display with full-HD resolution (401 ppi) and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC coupled with Adreno 530 GPU and 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM.

The OnePlus devices are well known for developer friendly devices, which can be customized by developers easily. Hence, we can say that some OnePlus users would have already been experienced Android 7.0 Nougat update if they had installed the unofficial CyanogenMod CM14 ROM. However, the ROM is believed to be very unstable and so the company has advised users to take necessary caution if they are attempting for its installation.

Additionally, it is expected of Android Nougat to come up with a lot of exciting new add ons. such as, multi-window support, direct reply to notifications, virtual reality support, improved system performance and an updated dose for better battery life. The company is yet to release the official date of the update launch, but considering the teaser, it seems like the Nougat may arrive soon.
