As per Gamasutra reports, the Seattle based online shopping giant is entering into PC games market. Amazon is not unknown by us, it is one of the world’s largest online shopping portal, which believes that it can provide everything at one place, such as gadgets, clothing, food items, jewellery etc.
Looking forward for the business expansion, the renowned online shopping portal has decided to jump into the big screen gaming zone. It is not to mention that this step taken by the company is one of its most ambitious decisions, as the gaming industry is observing lots of keen public attention.
A job post in Gamasutra says that Amazon.com, Inc. is looking for top talents who can make this dream come true for Amazon. As far as, it seems the company is doing great in accumulating the team, as game designers Kim Swift and Clint Hocking have already been hired by the company for development of the “Ambitious PC Game”. The two designers have already contributed their skills in some of the successful games in the past such as Portal, Far Cry and Splinter Cell. The company has also acquired the Double Helix Games which is best known for its PS3 and Xbox-360 game- Silenthill: Homecoming.
It seems that Amazon is taking it's new venturer very seriously, as the company has spent a huge amount in licensing the CryEngine which is being used in games like Evolve and Crysis. However, Amazon is not new in the business of games. The firm has been offering several mobile games for the gaming enthusiasts, but in the market of PC games the company is a novice.
This can be a great opportunity for the young game developers too, who have talent; this can be your break, just develop a good gaming idea and Amazon gaming studios can be the place where you might end up working.
