Will.i.am has come at Dreamforce 2014 and rolled out his first smartwatch Puls after long years of hard work. San Francisco is the onlooker who first saw the Black Eyed Peas frontman’s smartwatch. This gadget has been designed to reduce the dependency of smartphones over smartwatches. This wearable doesn’t need a smartphone connectivity to make calls, send texts and emails. The smart wearable is branded by his wearable tech company, called i.am+.
The 2 inch large device looks like a cuff instead of a smartband. The addition of SIM card makes it more advanced and smart with speakers and a touchscreen display which probably you will not find in any. It has the ability to connect with the mobile networks to send texts, emails and make calls. This is not the limit for this smart wearable. Playing music, accessing maps and checking social networking websites are also possible using this gadget.
The touchscreen display inside the device runs on Android OS. Thanks to Aneeda which is a SIRI like voice controlling feature in this smartwatch. A fitness app is also here to help you in workouts by monitoring your health. After three years of efforts, the musician cum tech entrepreneur has managed to bring his first wrist-worn device with amazing features. However, he is tight-lipped on other hardware parts.
On the specification side, 16GB of inbuilt storage and 1GB of RAM are coupled in the wearable. Puls also offers GSM 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS support along with pedometer and accelerometer. About 5 hours of continuous battery life is quite sufficient for this wristwatch. Will.i.am has also developed few accessories for its smartwatch, including a jacket with battery packs to charge the Puls, backpack with speakers and Shoes to check how many steps you have walk in a day by weighing you.
The pricing for the Puls and its accessories are not known yet, but it is said that it will hit the stores in holiday season. It is also said that AT&T will be selling it for US market while O2 will sell the Puls in UK.
