Samsung has made its word down the floor with the launch of its Gear S2 smartwatch to hit the board of US. The watch was expected to be launched the next month as per the news reported earlier. So, the month has come with the effective reveal of Gear S2 smartwatch on October 2nd. There are various types of variants to be unveiled by the company as reported, but it has just unveiled the Dark Grey variant which is available to ship in next few days.
The variants like Gear S2 in Silver and Classic (Black) model will be shipped in 3 to 4 weeks. The models are available to purchase from the Samsung's official website. The pre-orders can be done and the models will be fetched in the shipment as per the dates or months decided. The costing of the models also differ with the color segment as the Silver or Dark Grey color model costs $299.99, while Gear S2 Classic or Black model will be available for $349.99.
The smartwatch carries various OS depending on the type of model. As the Classic and the usual model of Gear S2 as Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic carries Tizen OS, ignoring the Android platform. Both the device sports 1.2 inch circular Super AMOLED display screens with 360*360 pixels resolution. The gadget works as that of the Samsung's Galaxy series Android smartphone running KitKat 4.4 OS or later and can also work as a non Samsung smartphone. It is modulated to feature 1.5GB of RAM.
Both the variants are water resistant with bezel rotating dial. The smartwatch have different look for different model as the Classic is called like that because it really resembles a classic timepiece, while regular S2 has a futuristic design. With further curiosity, it is reported to unveil Gear S2 3G to hit the US market again. No words have been uttered yet on the price and release date.
