Skype Latest Update Enables Users To Hide IP Address

Skype, announced the latest update for all its users, which is capable of hiding IP address by default. The feature will be automatically activated once a user updates its Skype on mobile, PC or tablets. It is indeed a welcoming change since the users were demanding for this from past four years, demands of which have increased multifold over time and now finally Skype catering its users demands has incorporated it in its latest update.

In a blog post company stated, Starting with this update to Skype and moving forward, your IP address will be kept hidden from Skype users by default. This measure will help prevent individuals from obtaining a Skype ID and resolving to an IP address. The company has asked all its users to update their Skype applications across devices so as to take full advantage of the new feature.

Though the community had been rolling out several new updates from quite long, including the addition of Group Video Calling feature that was earlier available only for those users who purchased Skype for their business. However, now the feature can also be used by non-subscribers i.e., those who haven't purchased Skype for commercial purpose.

The first online mishap using the IP address happened back in 2012 and since then it has been a headache for the gamers around the globe. So, in order to put a stop to these incidents, the community came with this new update which is expected to get a warm welcome, not only from the online gaming community but also from casual home users.
