WhatsApp Included Send Document Over Chat Feature In The Latest Update

The Facebook-owned WhatsApp has been constantly on the update, with tons of new features and improvements being rolled out regularly. From being a basic chatting or IM app, Whatsapp has gone on to support voice calling, image sharing and video sharing app and also brought to the world the much loved emoticon chat. And the latest to be added to the list are document sharing and zoom video features.

On Android, the WhatsApp v2.12.453, available on Google Play shows a 'Document' section instead of 'Gallery' under attachments. Not all users with the same app version are able to view the option at the moment. However, those users on the latest app version available from the company site are able to see the option.

For now, users can only send pdf files but the file support is likely to expand in the future. It is worth mentioning that a user cannot send a document until the receiver has also updated the app to the same or newer Android app version. The WhatsApp v2.12.453 for Android, as mentioned in the Google Play listing, additionally brings over 100 new emojis, Google Drive Backup for chats and media, support for 5 new languages, and is now is compatible with Android 6.0 Marshmallow permissions.

The WhatsApp has also brought new features like sending files from Google Drive and Dropbox, along with pinch to zoom on videos for iOS users as well through an update v 2.12.14 of WhatsApp. The new update is now allowing iOS users to send files to other contacts, which means that an user can send photos and videos stored in cloud storage services directly from WhatsApp.
