Whatsapp Integrates With Google, Backup option on Google Drive

Whatsapp made the collaboration with the Google. Now, finally, Whatsapp for Android has Google Drive backup option, a new update which allows user to create an online backup for all their data.

The sharing, messaging app, will enable users to backup their entire Whatsapp chat history, including voice messages, photos, and videos to Google drive.

Google Drive Director of Product Management, Scott Jhonston wrote in a post, "Whether it's recounting a story, watching a video, or enjoying photos with family and friends, our memories help us reconnect with what's really important. And every month, nearly a billion people use WhatsApp to do just that. Of course: you don't want your memories stuck on your phone. (What if something happens?!)."

The advantage of this alluring feature is that ones you switch off phones or your old phone damaged unexpectedly, then at least your Whatsapp chats and many more things will be saved to the Google's Drive.

There isn't seem to be any file size limits to the backup, and the Whatsapp encrypts every piece of the messages whether it is in the form of chats, videos, images and many more into the backup in the Google Drive automatically.

Earlier the 2.12.45 APK had allowed users to use the Google Drive feature, although it was not available on the official Whatsapp site or Google Play Store. Once you update the app, in the chat backup, will able to see the Google Drive option. After clicking on chat backup, the backup should start taking place automatically.

Google confirms that it is rolling out the new feature to Android app users over the coming months and revealed to keep an eye out for the update.
