Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has been gaining popularity among Indian users at a rapid pace which further got boosted with the availability of it's latest flagship product Xiaomi Mi-5 across popular Indian e-commerce websites.
The company back in May also unwrapped its latest MiUi 8 ROM officially and at the time of unveiling promised its user base of revealing the download links by June 17. As per the latest reports, it looks like the company has kept its promise since it has now officially released first MIUI 8 China Developer ROM (version 6.6.16) along with the Changelog that entails all the changes being made specifically.
To ease out the upgradation process to MiUi 8, the company has decided to release an Over-the-Air (OTA) update for all the users who are currently using latest MiUi China Developer ROM, while other users can use a comprehensive guide released by the company itself. As per reports, the MIUI 8 China Developer ROM changelog includes over a thousand optimizations in MIUI 8 apart from the addition of several new features.

At the launch of MIUI 8 ROM in May, Xiaomi had claimed that there were 200 million MIUI users worldwide. The first MiUi 8 China Developer ROM (version 6.6.16) comes with a lot of new add-ons like a brand new design, support for cloning most of the applications. long screenshots along with second space etc.
The company has also revealed a list which is being considered as a list of compatible devices. According to Xiaomi, the supported devices are Xiaomi Mi 2/2S, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4c, Mi 4S, Mi 5, Mi Max, Mi Note, and Mi Note Pro. In the category of Redmi devices the list include names of Redmi 1, Redmi 1S, Redmi 2, Redmi 2A, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi 3, Redmi 3S, Redmi Note, Redmi Note 4G, Redmi Note Prime, Redmi Note 2, and the Redmi Note 3 (both the MediaTek and Qualcomm units). After observing the list closely, it won't be wrong to state that Xiaomi has taken into consideration all its products quite well.
The ROM also features a new Calculator app, new scanner, shortcut menu, Mi Lanting font as well as support for speech-to-text output in recorder followed by special effects for video editing. Additionally, it also offers new templates for Notes, redesigned Task Manager and Gallery app, Smart menu for editing text, Wallpaper Carousel, all-new Battery saver and also brings recognition for fraudulent messages which surely would prove helpful for Xiaomi users.
