Gionee has silently rolled-out its new model named as Gionee Marathon M5 Lite in China. Last month, the company had introduced Marathon M5 smartphone and now, it's set to launch a new version, called Marathon M5 Plus on 21 December 2015. So, amidst all this, the sudden launch of this another handset has come as a pleasant surprise for the China users. It's available on the company’s shopping website priced at CNY 999 (around INR 10,000).
Similarly with all other models in the Marathon lineup, the main highlight of the Gionee Marathon M5 Lite is its big battery. It's powered by a 4000mAh Li-Po battery that delivers up to 40 hours of talk time, 68 hours of music playback, 3 days of regular use and 39 days of standby time. It can also charge other smartphones as well.
It runs on Amigo 3.0 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop and supports dual-SIM with 4G connectivity. It's equipped with a 5-inch HD (720*1280 pixel) IPS display with a pixel density of 293 ppi and backed by a 64-bit 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 SoC, paired with 1 GB RAM and Mali-T720 GPU.
Moving on its storage capacity, it carries 16GB of built-in storage that can be expanded via microSD (up to 128GB). It offers an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with CMOS and LED-flash and a 5-megapixel front camera. Dimensionally, it measures 143X69.9X8.5 mm, weighs 182 gm.
Coming to its connectivity options, the Gionee Marathon M5 Lite features Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, Wi-Fi and MicroUSB connectivity. Along with this, it's also housed with ambient light sensor, gravity sensor and proximity sensors inside this new handset. As of now, there is no commitment of its availability and price in India.
