Source, NASA has depicted images of New extraterritorial body C/2012 S1 (ISON). After its fall astronomers are expecting that it may give them a spectacular light show. Two Russian astronomers discovered the ISON on september21, 2012 using the International Scientific Optical Network's 16 inch telescope near kislovodsk.
NASA took the comet's images form NASA's deep impact spacecraft in between 17th and 18th january when the comet was 493 million miles away, NASA release.
The project manager for the Deep Impact spacecraft, Tim Larson said: "this is the fourth comet on which we have performed science observations and the farhest point from Earth from which we've tried to transmit data on a comet".
This comet is also known as long period extraterritorial body and can have orbits alive hundred to millions of years. Astronomers thinks it is its first orbit means it is "laden with volatile material just spoiling for some of the solar energy to heat it up and help it escape."
