Aircel is a mobile service provider which came into existence in the year 1999 having its headquarter at Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It is a joint venture of Maxis Communications Berhad. In its initial year company is started as a regional player but soon it holds flagship in the market. People prefer Aircel as its service operator because of it good network, better service and excellent offers.
It is India's fifth largest GSM mobile service provider and stands on seventh position in both GSM and CDMA. In country itself over 63.35 million subscriber are there as per the data of 2012. Company bought 3G and wireless broadband (BWA) spectrum in the year 2010. Now it is planning to launch LTE network in the first quarter of 2013.
