BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) is a government owned telecommunication company headquartered in New Delhi. The company was set up in October 2000 and within 11 years it has become the largest telecommunication firm of the country and in the world it stands at seventh position. From the data of 2011 BSNL had 95 million customer and had footprints in all four metropolitan cities.
Company provides comprehensive range of services in India including Wire line, GSM Mobile, Internet, Broadband, Carrier service, CDMA mobile, IN Services etc. It has 24 telecom circles, 2 metro districts, 6 project circles, 4 maintenance regions, 5 telecom factories, 3 training institutions and 4 specialized telecom units Company paid Rs 101.87 billion to government to buy 3G spectrum. At present around 254,499 people are employed and the total annual asset of this company is Rs 1176.32 billion (US$22 billion).
