Chevrolet is an automobile company and its owner is General Motors. The company was founded by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant in 1911, and in 1918 it was owned by General Motors. In American automobile market Chevrolet have sold around 4.76 million vehicles globally in 2011.
In Mexico the company develops models like Suburah and Avalanche and they are based on US platforms. In India it officially started the business in 2003 and has a joint venture with Hidustan Motors that sale Opel Corsa, Opel Vectra and Opel Astra.
The Company sales many models like Cruze, Spark, Optra etc in India and in the Middle East also it has a division named Chevrolet Special Vehicles. In 2005 it took part in World Touring Car Championship with the model Lecetti and later this model was replaced by Cruze in 2009. It is an official sponsor of British football team by replacing Audi in may 2012.
