Fiat is an automobile company founded in 1899 by an investment group. Its headquarters is located in Turin, Italy. Fiat also manufactures carriages, military vehicles and railway engines. Its first truck was launched in 1908 and until 1910 it was the largest automobile company in Italy and got more than 80% market share. The Company adopted Alfa Romeo in 1986 by the government. The current chairman of Fiat Group is John Elkann and its CEO is Sergio Marchionne.
In 2009, the Fiat Group gained 20% stake in Chrysler LLC to produce small and fuel-efficient vehicles in the US. Mostly this company manufactures small city cars, vans and trucks etc. The Fiat Automobile Group has included Ferrari SPA, Chrysler Group and Maserati SPA. Its Fiat Nuova 500 has won European Car Of the year in 2008 and this group was the only one which has won the award of European premier automotive trophy for 12 times. Its commercial vehicles are Fiat Ducato, Fiat Doblo and Scudo etc.
