World famous luxury automobile brand Mercedes was founded by Karl benz in 1886. Its predecessors are Benz & Cie.Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft. It manufactures cars, coaches, buses and trucks. The headquarter of the company is in Stuttgart, Germany. The first A-class car was a hatchback and launched in early years. The company sold the world's first truck in 1886 and now the truck company is a part of Daimler Trucks division. It also manufactures high range of coaches and buses in Europe and Asia. Before 1994 the nomenclature of the car models was alphanumeric like SSK racing car in 1928, 500E in 1990, Mercedes Benz SL3 AMG etc. and after that it followed alphabets that indicates engine type and body style.
For example "C" indicates cabriolet body style, "L" indicates lightweight for sporty models and "S" means special class etc. In the year 2007 it released 7 hybrid models and in 2009 it launched BlueZero concepts. The company has set the goal of 100 vehicles to be launched in further years.
