MTS stands for Mobile TeleSystems which is a mobile operator company headquartered in Moscow, Russia. It provides mobile networks. MTS was founded in 1993 by Moscow City Telephone Network and various other shareholders are also included in the group. The company came in India in 2008 and started providing CDMA services. Its mobile services are available in more than 83 regions across 81 different countries.
In 2008 it started a joint venture with Vodafone. MTS has acquired various small mobile service companies. The company is under top 5 mobile handset brands after Samsung, Nokia. LG and Sony. The Core Company or parent company of MTS in India is Sistema Shyam TeleServices. MTS also provides mobile broadband services MTS Blaze which gives hi speed internet service. Currently MTS network is present in Delhi, Gujarat, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kolkata, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
