It is an automobile manufacturer company from Germany. It was founded in 1862 by Adam Opel and the head office of Opel is located at Russelsheim, Germany. In 1929, the General Motors made it a subsidiary and in 1931 it was fully owned by GM.
Opel has also declared that the company will invest 11 billion Euros within next five years and 1 billion will be spent on the quality driven manufacturing of engines and transmissions. It has become a brand of GM and it sold by different names in different countries like in UK it is Vauxhall, in New Zealand and Australia- Holden etc. After rebadged of cars in the US, Canada, China and Mexico it has sold under the Buick name like Opel Insignia is sold as Buick Regal, Opel Mokka as Buick Encore and Opel Astra as Buick Verano.
The latest model of the company launched in Europe in 2012 is Opel Ampera and some shortlisted models are Meriva B, Astra J, Corsa and Zafira etc.
