Reportedly, KTM is overhauling its product lineup to offer an updated range of Duke and RC series for the 2017 model year. The 2017 KTM lineup is expecting a next generation Duke 390, which might be premiered globally at the Milan Motorcycle Show by this year end. A more like production ready Duke 390 rendering emerges online under MotorBeam courtesy. The surfaced image seems to be inspired from the earlier spied almost completely undisguised prototype at the company’s manufacturing facility. Hereafter, it has been spotted once again with heavy camouflage while performing test rounds on the old Mumbai-Pune highway.
From the render, it is quite obvious that the new KTM Duke 390 variant will be sharper not only in styling but also in handling than the ongoing model. The closest source from the Bajaj Auto has also confirmed the same on the condition that his name will not be revealed. On aesthetics front, the motorcycle will be embellished with the bits like a bifurcated LED headlamp, reworked instrument console, new fuel tank, sharp tank extensions, an exposed rear subframe and revised exhaust system.
Mechanically, the new Duke 390 will be loaded with the same 373cc single cylinder liquid cooled powertrain which will be tuned to make more power and torque than the existing model’s 44PS and 35Nm respectively. KTM has also worked to develop engine compiled to the EURO4 emission and noise norms and to end up the heating problem with improved heat dissipation. The dual channel ABS, USD front forks and rear placed mono shock will come as standard as the current offering.
