The bookings of latest 2018 Honda Gold Wing has been reported by the Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India. Keeping the certainty in its legacy of technology, luxury, and refinement, the new Honda Gold Wing is here to nourish it further.
The latest model is updated in all categories comprising performance, comfort, technology, handling, and engineering. The additives in the bike have shifted it towards more powerful, lighter, more lively, and more attractive appearance. The bike is powered by a newly-developed horizontally-opposed 6-cylinder engine which comes mated to a 7-speed DCT. It has Honda’s original double wishbone front suspension.
The company’s introduction of Africa Twin has got so much name and fame, so Honda carries the DCT comfortability in the Gold Wing also and expecting the same response from the customers. The 3rd generation DCT (Dual-Clutch Transmission) setup from the Honda is the best coming to the development and seven speeds transmission. Furthermore, the DCT provides an exclusive low-speed “Walking” mode which comes awake while operating in reverse. It assists in moving skillfully into or out of parking zones with pillion sitting on the back.
The molded aluminum twin beam frame of the bike is hard and lighter by 2kg, enhancing the handling capability to provide a smoother riding experience. The fresh inclusion of double wishbone front suspension in the tourer diminishes friction in comparison to surpassed telescopic setup. The new 2018 Honda Gold Wing is now more proficient and quick than before. Rear spring of the bike takes 4 settings of preload in addition to load which could be marked on the swanky new 7 inch TFT screen.
The 2018 model is powered by a revised 1,833cc engine which is able to churn out a maximum power of 125bhp at 5,500rpm and a peak torque of 170 Nm at 4,500rpm. The bike gets a replacement of two valves per cylinder to four valves in relation to a horizontally-opposed flat six.
The inclusion of Throttle By Wire (TBW) works as an additive to 4 riding modes (sport, econ, rain, and tour) to keep the grip tight. The rider modes in the bike keep HSTC (Honda Selectable Torque Control) and suspension damping for higher positioned rider control. Besides, Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) and brake force Idling Stop help in an ultra-quiet start-up. The equipment setup of Dual-Combined Braking System (D-CBS) and ABS assist the front and rear wheels to control the braking distribution cordially. The new 2018 Honda Gold Wing has priced at Rs. 26.85 lakh (starting price, ex-showroom, India). It is available in two options of Gold Wing and Gold wing Tour in the new glossy Candy Ardent Red color. The booking of the bike started in India and deliveries will be available in 2018 with first come first serve basis.
