Kawasaki Ninja, the two-wheeler samurai on the streets has always shared a special place in the heart of every bike enthusiast around the world. Since its debut in 2013, the show stopper bike has never received any major upgrades, but this time it is expected to arrive with a new charm. A Japanese auto magazine ‘Young Machine’ has rendered some images of the upcoming Superbike, which hints us the new embodiment of the beast.
The upcoming Ninja 250 is believed to acquire its design upgrades from its elder sibling, the Ninja 650. In term of engine specifications, the Ninja 250 will be powered by a 249cc parallel twin motor, which is capable of churning out a maximum power of 31 bhp at 11,000rpm along with a peak torque of 21 Nm at 10,000 rpm.
However, in the European market, along with nations like India, Thailand and Vietnam, the company will introduce a 300cc variant, which will be powered by a 296cc 2-cylinder liquid cooled engine, capable of developing 39 bhp of maximum power at 11,000rpm and 27Nm of peak torque at 10,000rpm. Apart from the engine specs, both the Ninja 250 and Ninja 300 will be blessed with the same design and other specifications like dual channel ABS, ride-by-wire throttle, and a new instrumental console.
The overall design of the Superbike includes new LED headlamps, which now gets a slimmer profile to give the motorcycle more sporty look. It also seems to get a new exhaust and the side profile will notably look like the 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 650. It is also expected to shed out some weight to enhance the power to weight ratio front.
Rest of the details will be unveiled at the time of its official launching, which will take place sometime later in 2017. Some reports are also there in the market pointing out the availability of a 4-cylinder engine model, which could be introduced anytime soon. Instead, it will continue offering the twin-cylinder model.
