The price for this new hulkish Fortuner SUV starts from INR 25.92 Lakh and goes up to INR 31.12 Lakh for the top-end variant. Beneath the Hood -
Under the hood, the new Fortuner sports the same range of powertrains which have been seen on the latest 2016 Toyota Innova Crysta, but in a different state of tune. It is offered in both petrol and diesel engine options. While the 2.8-litre diesel-powered SUV is offered in both 4WD which is named Toyota’s Σ4 (Sigma 4) and 2WD drivetrains, the 2.7-litre petrol-powered SUV is only available in the 2WD drive system. The new Σ4 system features active traction control on all four wheels.
Explaining in more detailed, the diesel engine churns out the maximum power of 177PS and the peak torque of 450 Nm. Transmission is available with the choice of 6-Speed manual and 6-Speed automatic gearbox.
On petrol side, there is only a 2WD system. The engine is capable of producing the maximum power of 166 PS and the peak torque of 245 Nm. Gearbox is mated to a 5-Speed manual or 6-Speed automatic transmission.
List of new features and technologies inside-out -
Exterior highlights of the new 2016 Fortuner include a more aggressive face with bulky size, 18-inch and 17-inch alloy rims for diesel and petrol model respectively, first-in-segment Bi-beam LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) and LED taillamps.
Other technology-genius features include A-TRC Traction Control system, Cruise Control, Downhill Assist Control (DAC) system, electric tailgate, electrically adjustable driver seat, 7-inch T-Connect smart infotainment system with satellite navigation connectivity, reversing parking camera and push start/stop button.
