Ampere Vehicles that is an electric vehicles manufacturer based in Coimbatore, India, has launched its first set of electric scooters, the Ampere V48 and the Red Li- Ion. Both the scooters are rolled out at the price sticker of INR 38,000 and INR 46,000 respectively.
For your information, these scooters are not required to register in RTO as they are the slowest and runs at the top speed of 25kmph. The propelling power for the scooters comes from 250W brushless DC motors which are backed by a 48V lithium-ion battery pack. In order to charge up, the provided battery that takes four to five hours for a complete charge, the company is offering a lithium-ion battery pack charger at an additional cost of Rs 3000.

In a full charge, the battery provides the travel distance of up to 70 kilometres. Altogether, they offer different load carrying the range of 120kg and 100kg for Ampere V48 and Red Li-Ion respectively.
As of now, the brand’s dealership range consists of 150 dealerships across the country in major Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. The manufacturing of the mentioned scooters is being dealt at the company’s R&D facility in Coimbatore. Though, the battery packs are imported units all the way from China and Taiwan.
