According to a report by Autocar India, Audi India will soon bring the Audi Q2 LWB to the Indian shores. The car has been set for preview at the ongoing 2016 Beijing Motor Show. It is said to be Audi’s least expensive car offering in the country.
The Audi Q2 rivals against the prominent luxury cars like Mercedes GLA and BMW X1. The Q2 LWB model is likely to offer more space for the rear passengers unlike the regular Q2 models. It has also been reported that the company would prefer to produce it locally so that the price can be kept less expensive.
The global-spec Audi Q2 LWB offers engines such as the 1.0-litre TFSI three-cylinder petrol engine, 1.4- and 2.0-litre TFSI 4-cylinder petrol engines and 1.4-litre plus 2.0-litre three-cylinder TDI diesel engines. However, the India-spec Q2 is expected to offer the 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine, which can be availed locally.
