Recently, the German auto giant Audi has launched its next generation A4 sedan in other global markets and slated to be rolled out in India by the last week of this month. Now, it is confirmed that the 2016 sedan will come up with a petrol engine at first as the automaker has brought out some units of the A4 TFSI variant here in the country.
The specification of the petrol engine includes a 1.4-litre turbocharged four cylinder TFSI unit that whips up 150 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. There would be the same 6-speed manual or the 7-speed S-Tronic transmission box.
Moreover, a diesel trim is also there for later that will be powered by a 2.0-litre TDI unit and capable of generating 190 PS of power along with 400 Nm of torque. The transmission options are same as of the petrol motor. In addition, this unit might get delay owing to diesel ban issue across the country, however, if it is not then the automaker will introduce the motor by the end of this year.
Debuted first at the 2016 Auto Expo, the next-gen Audi A4 has grown its size by 25 mm longer, 16 mm wider and 12 mm higher. Besides, wheelbase is also extended in order to give better legroom space inside the cabin. As the continuously increasing popularity of the luxury cars in India, the company has made major updates for both inside and out.
On the mechanical front, the car carries Audi’s latest design philosophy with a wider hexagonal grille, which is also flanked by the regular Matrix LED headlights as well as LED daytime running lights. By moving to the side profile, you will get to see fresh ORVMs and a set of alloy wheels. Furthermore, the back profile has also been modified with the rear bumper, LED tail lights and a revamped boot lid.
The interior is also enlightened with an all new dashboard, which is further dominated by a new instrument cluster. It is also integrated with a full TFT touchscreen unit, probably getting the latest Apple CarPlay accompanied by other gizmos. A Bang & Olufsen Audio system is also there with 19 speakers to make your ride more entertaining.
Well, the price range is not confirmed yet, but it might takes place between INR 35 lakhs to INR 45 Lakhs. Once arrived, it will go up against the rivals likes Mercedes-Benz C-Class, BMW 3-series and the all new Jaguar XE.
