Honda Car India has been recorded a drop in sales by 6.58% in August this year with the total number of sales of 15,655 units, compared to the 16,758 units sold in August last year. In July this year, the sales number are just 92 for the Honda India. Mahindra also witnessed a fall-down by 3.10% in August this year and stands at 32,122 units over the August last year’s sales of 33,150 units. While, the auto majors like Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai Motors recorded hike in their sales.
The sales of the flagship sedans, City and Amaze were being expected to take the graph on a higher notch, but they managed to route outward at the figure of 4300 units and 2400 units respectively. Even the facelifted version of Amaze could not attract the buyers which was recently introduced. The company was also had much hopes from the BR-V to fuel the sales, but only 2,229 units were being sold which is 33 percent lower than the previous month. The performance of both the hot hatches, Jazz and Brio was also disappointing in the market compared to the last month.
On the bright side, Honda secured the third place in the Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) report undertaken by J. D. Power for this year. However, Honda is planning to get recover from the decreasing sales, as the company has imported the diesel version of the CR-V and is being the tested on the Indian Roads. Furthermore, if the reports are turned out to be true the Civic might also be launched with the updated version. Brand’s much anticipated sedan, the Accord is also on papers to comeback in the country with the blue (Hybrid powertrain) drivetrain. So, in the upcoming months the Honda may create a buzz in the automobile market with the number of updated versions of the current models.
