As per the surfaced rumors on the internet, the Pune-based motorcycle manufacturer company, Bajaj Auto is looking forward to introducing the Husqvarna brand in the Indian motoring market in Jan 2017. After breathing heavily around the corners, speculations come to an end, as the head honcho of Bajaj officially announced the debut of Swedish bike maker at the ninth general meeting of shareholders held on Wednesday this week.

Well-known brand for its dirt bikes across the globe, Husqvarna now produces bikes under the supervision of Stefan Pierer-CEO, KTM. The firm's product lineup is full fledged with the offerings like steadfast off-road, dual sport and supermoto bikes. As per the current market demand, some new, sturdy and performance bikes may also be added to its product portfolio. To make this come true for the Indian bike afficidianos, Mr. Rajiv Bajaj, MD, Bajaj Auto LTD. presented its complete task portfolio for over next three years, at the meeting with shareholders. Out of which, for now, the major task is to bring Husqvarna to the Indian market altogether with the expansions of KTM and Bajaj in the coming future. To attain these goals, Bajaj has invested a big amount of Rs 2500 crore.

With the launch of Husqvarna, we can assume Vitpilen 401 as the first roll out from the company. Reports suggest that the mentioned bike will be produced alongside with KTM Duke range motorcycles. Probably, this bike could share the new Duke 390’s single cylinder engine with chassis, while the design language may be a different factor on both. According to the Pierer, KTM will only produce bikes under the displacement range of 150cc to 400cc and the dealership networks will be increased with the addition of 88 new stores across the country this year.
