From April 1, 2019, the registered two-wheelers must be equipped with the advanced safety of CBS/ABS in lieu of complying with the new safety norms. Due to which, the future of a few motorcycles seems in darkness while others have been updated the proper safety feature. Still, there are a handful of models available in the market which did not get this safety as standard and not confirmed when will be fitted with the same. The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 is among these motorcycles.
Over the last few months, from the Avenger to Pulsar series of the motorcycle has not only been spotted but also their updated models with ABS has launched in the country. However, the NS160 was not part of updated Bajaj bikes. But now as per the dealers' source, the Bajaj Pulsar NS160 is under works to get ABS feature and sooner will hit the showrooms by this month end.

The NS160 draws power from a 160.3cc single-cylinder engine that churns out 15.5hp at 8,500rpm and 14.6Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. It is expected that besides getting updated with a single-channel ABS unit, no mechanical change will be seen on the motorcycle. The ongoing Pulsar NS160 costs INR 85,939 (ex-showroom, Delhi). With the equipment of a single channel ABS unit, it would see a price hike of around INR 12,000. Well, it is not the exact amount but chances are the premium will hover around the same. The non-ABS NS160 variant will be available to the dealerships as like other non-ABS bikes until stocks last.
