Bajaj Pulsar 220 ABS Reached Dealers before its Launch

The Bike has been introduced with a single-channel unit with rear lift-off protection (RLP). Following the New Safety regulations by the Indian Government by April 1, 2019, the Updated versions of Bajaj’s range of 125 cc+ motorcycles have been made available to the dealers and thus, to the Bikeriders prior to the New year. The Government has passed some safety regulations which is required to be followed by the dealership and that is by April 1, 2019, all the two-wheelers with engine displacement above 125 ccs, should and must be equipped with ABS, whereas the same does not go for the smaller Engined bikes. They could employ the cheaper Combi-Braking System (CBS).

After Bajaj Avenger 220 ABS and Pulsar 180 ABS, we now can enjoy the spy-shots of Pulsar 220 ABS at a dealership yard. The Pune based two-wheeler Giant Bajaj Pulsar looks like planning to get these updated models launched softly in a few weeks.

Pulsar 220F is equipped with a single-channel ABS with standard rear lift-off protection, just like its other similar models. wheel speed encoders are the only addition and the front and rear discs have no other changes. The bike with semi-fair colour is retarded by a 260 mm front and 230 mm rear discs (same as Pulsar 180).So far, there is no such apparent distinction between the ABS-equipped model and the existing ones. The Bajaj Pulsar 220F is made available in four dual tone colour themes i.e. chrome black, laser black (red decals), dyno red (grey decals) and nuclear blue (grey decals).

The Pulsar 220F is not a new model but the attractive price tag of INR 98,694 has kept it in the news and also is the choice of the youth. According to the recent media reports, Bajaj is expected to be working on a new 250 cc Pulsar (based on KTM Duke 250’s engine) which is expected to be launched in 2020.

The Pulsar 220F has gotten long in the tooth but an attractive price tag of INR 98,694 (ex-showroom, New Delhi) has kept it relevant. If the recent media reports are to be believed, Bajaj is working on a new 250 cc Pulsar (based on KTM Duke 250’s engine) which is slated for launch in 2020. The upcoming product is expected to eventually take the baton from the 220F and also probably replace the NS 200.

The Bajaj Pulsar 220F ABS continues to be having a single-cylinder oil-cooled DTS-i motor which delivers 20.93 PS and 18.55 Nm of torque. The gearbox is a 5-speed unit. It is expected that the updated Bajaj Pulsar 220F ABS would be dearer by INR 2,000 – 3,000 as compared to the existing version.
