The Bajaj Auto Ltd. is expanding its Pulsar lineup each passing day. Just a few days back, the Pulsar RS 200 has made its bombastic entry as a fully-faired Racing Sports motorcycle in the Indian Two-wheeler industry. Today the firm has introduced an Adventure Sports motorcycle, named as Bajaj Pulsar AS 200. Being an adventure sports motorcycle, it is blessed with aerodynamic styling and various enhanced components. It is third in the row of 200cc displaced engined sports motorcycles offered by the Bajaj Auto Ltd.
Mechanically, it is pretty much similar with the firm's flagship naked sports motorcycle, Bajaj Pulsar 200NS. It gets its power from a single-cylinder carbureted engine carrying an engine displacement of 199.5cc. The liquid-cooled motor is tuned to fetch a churning power of 23.2 BHP @ 9500 revs and achieves a peak torque of 18.3 Nm @ 8000 RPM, while mated to a 6-speed transmission. The 199.5cc displaced engine is fitted around a perimeter frame and houses a triple-spark ignition system; weighing just 153 Kg.
On the technical front, the perimeter frame is further incorporated with Telescopic anti-friction front forks and Nitrox mono-shock absorber at the rear. The braking duties have been taken care by 280mm front disc brakes and 230mm rear disc brakes; ABS not to be offered even as an option. Being an Adventure Sports motorcycle, it is featuring a visor, projector headlight, a little bit of front fairing, tubeless tyres and 12-liters of fuel tank capacity. The muscular tank and Alpha Male styling acquired by the Pulsar AS 200 simply adds a top cherry over the cake.
The Pulsar AS 200 is featuring an underbelly exhaust, full-sized mud-guard and minimal tyre-hugger at the rear. The difference between the AS 200 and 200 NS can be judged by a little bit of front-half fairing and long-sized visor. As per the company claims, the Pulsar AS 200 has the "Power to go any distance". The firm is offering three paint schemes for the newly launched Adventure Sports motorcycle; Blue, Black and Red. The Pulsar AS 200 is now available at the Bajaj's local dealership carrying an affordable price tag of Rs 91,550 (Ex-Showroom Delhi).
