BattRE that is a new electric scooter from the Jaipur-based startup company, BattRE Electric Mobility has been launched in the country at the price tag of INR 63,555. The scooter is capable of providing the travel range of 90 km in a single charge. As of now, the cities like Nagpur, Anantapur, Hyderabad and Kurnool are being benefited with BattRE scooter. By this year end, also the cities including Pune, Warangal and Vizag will also be availed with the availability of dealerships as well as service centres of BattRE Electric Mobility, which has the target of opening dealerships in 50 cities countrywide by the end of 2019.
Retro looking electric scooter with the rounded lamps and rearview mirrors, BattRE is available in five colour options. The headlamp and taillamp setup along with blinkers are LED units. Other than this, there is a black fly screen on the handlebar, keyless ignition, anti-theft alarm system, USB charger and an all-digital instrument console which readouts information like speed, temperature, odometer, battery usage and any issue to the scooter.

Keeping users’ convenience in mind, the EV maker provides a bottle holder, ergonomically crafted grab rail and better under seat storage. The BattRE runs on 10-inch alloy wheels which come wrapped with 90/100-10 tubeless tyres. It has a ground clearance of 150mm. The claimed top speed for the scooter stands at 25kmph.
The powering for the BattRE comes from a 48V 30Ah lithium ion battery which is capable of providing the travel range of 90km in a single charge. One of the lightest electric scooters available in the Indian market, the BattRE weighs just 64kgs out of which battery used for propelling the scooter tips 12kgs. With the facility of automatic cut off, once the battery gets charged, the power supply gets automatically cut off. Also, the company claims for around 2000 charging cycles for the battery.
As per the Nishchal Chaudhary, Founder of BattRE Electric Mobility, “The global e-mobility market is experiencing phenomenal growth due product innovations and change in policies. We are expecting to see the reverberations in the Indian market too. Our aim is to not only build an e-vehicle but also to offer an entire eco-system thereby ensuring that the consumer enjoys a complete e-mobility experience.” He further added that “We are also committed in building a world class distribution and after sales service network.”

Since a network for charging the scooter is not installed by the company yet. These are the removal batteries which can be charged up via a wall charger. The BattRE scooter suspends over the telescopic fork up front and a monoshock at the rear. While it gets the braking aids with the availability of disc units at both wheels. The scooter comes packed with such premium fitments however there is no subsidy is being offered by the government though.
BattRE scooter falls in the low range scooter category where it will see a competition with the likes of the Flash Li and the Optima LI, Ampere vehicle’s Reo and V48. The targeted audience of the BattRE is food delivery services like Uber Eats, Zomato and Swiggy, which have need of low-cost scooters with a good travel range.
