Recently, the Indian Government has made an official announcement that all motorcycle manufacturers will make their 125cc products with the feature of ABS in the country by 2017. According to the Indian Government order, the Benelli, which is known as a famed bike maker in automobile Industry is planning to add an ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) as an option on all its models by 2016. Presently, the Italian two wheeler maker takes the ABS kits from another company. But to reduce extra costs, the company will develop its own ABS Kit in China plant very soon. If the ABS is featured in the bikes then Benelli will increase the price of all motorcycles by INR 20,000 to INR 40,000.

As said by Mr. Shirish Kulkarni, chairperson of DSK Motowheels, "he company is working efficiently to reduce costs on other grounds as well. He also confirmed that ABS will be available primarily on the TNT 300i and TNT 600i and the rest of the range is expected to get it later next year. Braking assistance for Benelli bikes already comes from a Brembo setup and ABS will definitely increase rider’s confidence".

Presently, Italian maker offers a total number of five bikes that include the TNT 300, TNT 600i, TNT 600 GT, TNT 899 and TNT 1130 R. The company will also launch a more affordable motorcycle, TNT 25 with an expecting price tag of INR 2 lakh to the Indian enthusiasts on the festival season. Benelli also wants to extend their operations to open 14 new dealerships in India with the collaboration of DSK Motorwheels.
