BMW G310R ASEAN Debut at 37th Bangkok Motor Show

The 37th Bangkok International MotorShow started on April 23 is proceeding ahead with utmost zeal in which quite a few new launches have already been witnessed in the past days and few will be scheduled for the upcoming days till the show ends. Between the enormous varieties, one of the giant two-wheeler makers BMW has showcased its India-made G310R at the show, trying to enhance the smaller-capacity motorcycle segment by introducing the bike in ASEAN countries. Apparently, this ASEAN debut will grow the company's sales rapidly and this is likely the plan of the German automaker to dominate its empire in the maximum zone.

Power in the tourer comes from a 313cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that boasts 34BHP at 9500 RPM and 28NM of extreme torque at 7500 RPM. The motor gets transmission from a six-speed gearbox. The claimed mileage returned is 36KMPL along with a top speed of 145 KMPH.

Apart from the powertrain, the suspension responsibilities in the bike are done by 41mm upside-down front forks while monoshock preload adjustable suspension at the rear. A 300mm single disc brake incorporating a radially bolted four-piston caliper at the front end and a 240mm two-piston caliper at the rear side stops the machine. Besides, the two-channel ABS comes standard as well.

BMW in collaboration with the Indian motorcycle maker has a manufacturing facility at Hosur where the G310R will be built and exported globally. Anticipated price of the tourer is between INR 2 lakh and 2.5 lakh in India.
