Since ever the BMW announced its i8 sportscar in the world, the people went mad over it. This car has all the required ingredients in it to make this a people's choice hybrid car. It was showcased at the Auto Expo, New Delhi 2014 and now the news is coming that the BMW has started to import it for the soon to be done Indian launch. The company has not any plans to sell this car as regular models, but only a few limited units will be sold. This limited unit sale planning has been done under the brand image making team from the BMW.
Being a hybrid car, BMW i8 has 1.5 Litre 3-Cylinder petrol engine that is enough to develop 231 bhp power and 320 Nm of torque that will be sent to the rear wheels through its 6-speed automatic gearbox. There is also an electric motor that produces 131 bhp power and 250 Nm of torque to drive the front wheels, the total out of the system is 362 bhp power and 570 Nm of whooping torque.
This BMW i8 also gets accelerated to 100 km/h from none within under 5 seconds while getting operated on the hybrid platform along with the top speed of 250 km/h and impressive mileage of 40 km/l. Also, while driving on the electric mode, the top speed achieved is 120 km/h and 35 km of distance could be covered on a single complete charge.
