The well known German luxury car manufacturer, BMW is busy in making the plug-in hybrid variant of its X3, which seems to be launched launched shortly in the automobile market. Codenamed as G01, this vehicle is currently under testing phase as per the market reports. Power would come from a 2.0 litre four cylinder engine coupled with an electric motor hinting towards its energetic performance on the way for the enthusiasts. An 8-speed automatic transmission will be paired to the engine for transmitting the produced power to the wheels of this upcoming new version.
Now, spilling the beans about the power outputs, it's anticipated to churn out tremendous power of 328 hp and in complete electric mode, the X3 will have a terrific zeal to cover up around 30 Miles of distance. Thanks to the use of aluminium, high strength steel and carbon fibres, which help it in becoming lighter than the outgoing one resulting much better fuel efficiency.
Back in March, we told you that BMW is preparing an Indian launch for the updated X3 known as X3 30 d with a new oil burner mill powered by a 3.0 litre six cylinder unit to pump out an impressive power of 258 bhp and an astonishing torque of 560 Nm. Whereas the latest diesel trim might be set up in the Indian market before the end of this month, the BMW X3 plug-in hybrid is yet to be confirmed for our country.
