The luxury brand, BMW India has reserved 15 October for the launch of X5M and X6M performance cars. The carmaker wants to grasp the Indian market in M-class coupe. Presently, the brand's M3, M4 and the M5 lineup are running on the Indian roads, along with the M6 Gran Coupe which has been launched this week in facelift version. To gain more attention, the company has established its first M store in the country, located in Mumbai and further thinking to open outlets in Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Pune and Hyderabad.

Under the bonnet, both the vehicles will be fitted with a 4.4-liter TwinPower Turbo V8 engine, 575 HP between 6,000-6,500 RPM and 750 NM of torque between 2,200-5,000 RPM. The same engine is used in the M5 and M6 Gran Coupe. The X5M and the X6M will be able to achieve the speed of 100kmph from standstill in just 4.2 seconds and reach the top speed of 250 km/h. Power will be transferable to all the wheels via an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic.

After the launch, both the luxury cars will get a dreadful challenge from the Porsche Cayenne Turbo, Mercedes GL 63 AMG and the Range Rover Sport 5.0L V8. Both, BMW X5M and X6M will be brought to India via Completely Built Unit (CBU) route.
