Car sales in India fight with downturn. In the month of January, the fourth month of depreciation, 7.6 percent of fall was noted in car sales. SIAM (Society of Indian Auto Mobile) declares statistics and scrutinize for government support in bevorstehend budget.

Car sales in the month of January ran down to 1,60,289 units while in the same month of year 2013, car sales stood at 1,73,449 units. These statistics was released for domestic vehicles. Statistics of Passenger Vehicles which include utility vehicle and cars fell 9.3 percent.

Utility vehicle is splendent locale in "Auto Market" but hikes in diesel price destroy sells. Deputy Director General of Auto Industry Sugato Sen said to reporters that we have a giant expectation from the government to support. He also said that we are also expecting that excise duty will get reduced.

Vehicle demands in rural areas prompted randomly because of heavy monsoon. But in Urban areas, car demands have gone down because "economy proceeded at its slowest rate. "Reducing Factory gate duties on some products will be also getting regulated, as per Finance Minister P. Chidambaram. Hyundai Motor India Ltd, Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors sales downfall in domestic car category. For exciting the market, 70 new cars have been launched in Auto Expo which may help to increase the overall sales.
