Cleveland CycleWerks which marked its official entry to the Indian market at the 2018 Auto Expo, has eventually launched two of its announced products the Ace Deluxe and the Misfit. The Cleveland Ace Deluxe costs INR 2.24 lakh while the Misfit attracts the price tag of INR 2.49 lakh. Both the prices are applicable at ex-showroom, Delhi.
The brand’s first dealerships have also been inaugurated in Vashi, Mumbai, which will sale Cleveland Ace Deluxe initially. Whereas, the Misfit will join the sibling later by October or November 2018.
The cheapest of all in Cleveland lineup, the Ace Deluxe is a retro-styled naked streetfighter. While tagged with a slightly premium price tag, the Misfit is a cafe racer motorcycle. Mechanically, both the motorcycles share the 229cc, single-cylinder motor. Mated to a five-speed gearbox, the air-cooled mill is liable of generating the peak power of 15.4hp along with 16Nm of vertex torque.
Other than this, the employed suspension setup is also identical on both the prior offerings. They both get suspended on USD front forks and dual shock-absorbers at the rear which can be adjusted by a five-step preload adjustability.
The Ace Deluxe is built on a square-section single-downtube frame. Whereas, the Misfit underpins double cradle chassis. Settled at the seat height of 760mm, the Ace Deluxe weighs 133 kg and has a ground clearance of 1350mm. While the Misfit has rider’s perch is at 770mm.
The braking duties on the Deluxe will be handled by a 298mm front disc clamped with a twin-piston calliper and a 210mm rear disc armed with a single-piston calliper. While, the Misfit receives 4-piston callipers at the front and 2-pisto calliper at the rear wheel, armed with similar sized disc units of the Ace Deluxe.
The company has announced 10 dealerships for the brand in its first phase. Every city including Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Pune, Kochi, Indore, Hosur, Salem, Trivandrum, and Coimbatore, will get dealerships in its first phase. While, by the end of this financial year, the Cleveland dealership network will have 30 outlets.
In terms of pricing, they will face the competition against the likes of the KTM 250 Duke and and the TVS Apache RR 310. The other models like the Ace Scrambler and Ace Café which were also available with these launched models at the 2018 Auto Expo podium, will hit the country sometime next year as they are under ARAI certification.
