By considering below-mentioned points let's find out which will win the battle on the provided specs-set.
Bodywork:
Evidently, both models, the Kawasaki Versys X-300 and the BMW G310 GS follows the minimalist design language. However, the fuel tank and tank extensions are chiselled and sharp in styling. In addition to this, the luggage panniers are the common fitment at the rear end. The X-300 that rides on spoke wheels receives a taller windscreen as compared to small fly screen on the G310 GS. it runs on alloy wheels and gets a sump guard to protect the engine. On the other hand, the twin exhaust outlet on the X-300 is naked and did not any protection.
Powertrain:
The BMW G310 GS draws propelling power from a 313cc, single cylinder engine shared from its naked brother, the G310 R. The engine spawns out the peak power of 34bhp and delivers 28Nm of torque via a mated six-speed gearbox with chain drive.
The Kawasaki Versys X-300, on the other hand, is blessed with the powertrain with similar engine displacement. However, with the presence of an extra cylinder, the engine easily splits out comparatively more power of 38.5bhp and sends 27Nm of torque to the rear wheel via paired six-speed gearbox in integration with an assist and slipper clutch.
Tech and Features:
The cutting-edge technological feature of dual channel ABS is being offered as a standard fitment on both the bikes. The BMW G310 GS sports a fully digital instrument cluster that showcases all the ride related information along with gear indicator and clock. The display is illuminated by a blue-backlit. The Versys X-300 gets a semi-digital instrument console. Illuminated with an orange-backlit, the LCD Screen supplies information including gear indicator, speed, odometer and clock.
Underpinnings:
Mounted on a 41mm telescopic forks with 130mm of travel up front, the Kawasaki Versys X-300 uses a preload monoshock at the rear. Whereas, the equipped wheels are of different sizes. The front gets a larger 19-inch wheel as compared to 17-inch wheel at the rear. The G310 GS, on the other hand, stands on the 17-inch wheel at both ends. The motorcycle included 41mm inverted forks with a longer, 180mm travel distance along with a preload adjustable rear monoshock. The braking on the G310 GS comes from disc brakes at both front and rear wheel measuring 300mm and 240mm respectively. The equipped 290mm single disc at front and a 220mm rear disc stop the G310 GS precisely. With the storing capacity of 17-litres, the Versys X-300’s fuel tank is a larger unit as against to the 11-litre unit on the G310 GS.
Price Tag:
Kawasaki Versys X-300 is already available to purchase at the price sticker of INR 4.6 lakhs. The pricing for the G310 GS is not revealed though it is expected to be priced around INR 1 lakhs less expensive than the Versys X-300.
Verdict:
As per the comparison, the pricing will be the major aspect for deciding the winner. As the BMW G310 GS is being considered to be priced around INR 1 lakhs cheaper, at that price tag the motorcycle will definitely be able to beat the opponent Kawasaki X-300. Because in all other aspects both the motorcycles are almost similar and India is a budget-friendly market that can benefit the entry-level adventure from German bike maker.
