There was a time once, when the Hero Motocorp and Honda Motorcycles were working together and delivering quality products to the customers. Till the year 2011, when both the companies decided to split, there was only one leading automobile maker in the Indian market, i.e. Hero Honda, the most trusted brand carrying a huge list of satisfied customers. Now, after splitting up with each other, both the companies have become competitors in the Indian automobile industry. Since then, they have been launching new products every now and then in the two-wheeler segment. The latest launch from both the companies is Hero Splendor Pro Classic and Honda CD 110 Dream, the commuter segment motorcycles.
Now, let's have a look at the detailed specifications of both the motorcycles, giving competition to each other.
Hero Splendor Pro Classic:- The Splendor Series is the only series from the company who has touched the skies of success. There are various variants available in the Splendor series like Splendor Pro, Splendor iSmart, Splendor NXG and many more. The latest motorcycle is a new variant of the company's flagship model, Hero Splendor. The newly joined member of the family is baptized as Splendor Pro Classic. The company has put the Splendor theme series and a blend of café-racer in this newfangled bike.
Before moving ahead, wait!! Is the Hero Splendor Pro Classic share its appearance with Royal Enfield's Continental GT? Yes, that's exactly the same question which came to my mind when I first saw this motorcycle. Well, let's leave it to the company's strategy. The new styling of the Pro Classic will be offering classic round-shape headlight and tail-light, the café-racer cowl, new front and rear fenders, covered and round-shaped rear view mirrors giving this bike a perfect blend of café-racer.
Talking about technical specifications, it is powered by a 97.2cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine, which is mated to a 4-speed gearbox. The power figure of the motorcycle gives 7.7BHP of power @ 7,000RPM and 8.04Nm @ 4,500RPM. The Hero Motocorp wraps off the café-racer motorcycle at the Delhi Auto Expo, 2014 and claimed it to be the first 100cc café-racer motorcycle from the company.
Honda CD 110 Dream:- The latest Honda CD 110 Dream will be standing against the newly launched motorcycle from Hero Motocorp, the Splendor Pro Classic. In terms of styling and performance, the latest motorcycle has been following the success path of Dream Neo and Dream Yuga, the senior member of the Dream family. The main key feature of CD 110 commuter motorcycle is that, it is blessed with the HET (Honda Eco Technology), which helps to improve the fuel-efficiency.
The company claimed that it is the cheapest entry-level commuter motorcycle which is able to give 74KMPL of mileage. The 109cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine powers the motorcycle and generate a total power of 8.25BHP @ 7,500RPM with a maximum torque of 8.63Nm @ 5500RPM. The engine is mated with a 4-speed constant mesh transmission. The styling of the motorcycle provides more comfortable seats, high ground clearance and long stable alloy-wheels.
