The car modification agency, DC design has increased the glory of India with the launch of its first 'Made In India' supercar Avanti. The automaker had already revealed this car at the 2012 Auto Expo in Delhi and recently, it has been rolled out at the company showrooms at the starting price of INR 35.93 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune). This sportscar is inspired from the super cars like Ferrari and Lamborghini. Prospective customers will be able to choose among various color variants including red, white and silver alongside four upholstery shades of grey, tan, black and red.
This home-based Avanti measures 4565mm long, 2120 mm wide and has an overall height of 1200mm accompanied by 155mm of ground clearance. The weight of this vehicle is 1580kg, which aids in running the car at a fast speed. This coupe model gets equipped with a 2.0-litre, four cylinder, turbo petrol engine that produces 250bhp of power at 5500rpm and 340Nm of torque at 2750-5000rpm. This sports car is capable to achieve the speed of 0-100kmph in just 6 seconds with the top speed reaching upto electronically-limited 200kmph.
Coming to the external features, it stands on 20-inch alloys with disc brakes on all of them. It also gets fitted with a rear engine that operates on a rear wheel drive mechanism. For the safety purpose, it includes anti-lock braking system (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution(EBS) and much more. This luxury vehicle is available at all the dealerships of DC Design located in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Kolakata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Pune, Raipur and Surat.
In an interview during the launch event, Dilip Chhabria, founder and head of DC Design said, "We are proud of the fact that it is indigenously designed and developed in India for Indian customers and for Indian roads. It's now a car that the young can aspire. Usually when you're young, you can't afford a sports car. But with this, we are trying to reach out to the young aspirants to be able to afford a sports car because in other countries the sports car is a huge segment by itself,"
