Delhi Auto Expo 2018 Hosting 24 New Launches and 100 Latest Showcase

The 14th edition of Delhi Auto Expo 2018 will be held in between 9th February to 14th February 2018, it will be conducted at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, near Delhi, whereas the components will be conducted in between 8th February to 11th February 2018 at Pragati Maidan in Delhi. According to the organizers, it is expected that this year we would see 24 new launches and over 100 unveiling of vehicles at Auto Expo Show 2018 in New Delhi.

The Delhi Auto Expo 2018 Joint Inauguration will be conducted on 8th February 2018 While attending the media conference, Sugato Sen, Head of Society for Indian Mobile Automobile Manufacturers Association (SIAM) said, “We are going to see over 24 launches and an unveiling of over 100 vehicles during the expo”.

The country's renowned automobile manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki India has confirmed that it is all set to showcase the concept of the compact car with “SUV like characters”, to be titled with Concept Future S, at Auto Expo Show. According to the statement of the company, the concept of Future S will be designed uniquely and its features almost similar to SUV.

Mercedes Benz the Germany based automobile manufacturer, is planning to launch Maybach S 650 and also display the EQ concept: The new brand for electric mobility at the show during this year.

Delhi Auto Show 2018 will be bigger as compared to the previous (2016 edition), in which we saw only two-three launches. 24 new launches and 100 unveiling of new vehicles will be from various segments which comprises passenger vehicles, two-wheelers, and commercial vehicles. According to the chairman of SIAM trade fair group, Arun Malhotra, “On February 7-8, there is a preview of more than 100 products.” Auto Expo Show 2018 has been conducted by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) in collaboration with Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

Some of the companies such as Nissan, Audi, Volkswagen, Skoda, Ford, and Ducati, are not attending the mega event this year due to the high charges of participation. Sugato Sen said, “Some of the regulars have opted out. We have 48 members and none of the events in the past has seen more than 50% participation.” He also said this year most of the companies are not going to attend the mega event due to the high charges of the participation and further added that are some new companies such as Korean Kia Motors and Japanese Kawasaki are attending the expo this year.

“India right now is going through a huge disruption in the auto market. With the direct transition from BS-IV to BS-VI in two years and the EV plan etc, companies are not really bringing in new conventional vehicles anymore, Also, we have not changed the space rentals since 2012. On the contrary, we have reduced them by offering discounts”, Sen said. The charges of the participation of space have been increased from Rs 8,200 to Rs 8,900 per square feet during Delhi Auto Expo 2018.

Companies Not Participating in Delhi Auto Expo 2018

Where most of the companies are ready to launch their new products at the grand event, many are staying away from the event. It is quite worrisome for bike-lovers that this time they will miss the biggest automobile brands such as Volkswagen group, Ford, Harley Davidson and Bajaj Auto. According to a report, 2 big two-wheeler players, 3 truck manufacturers, and 7 car manufacturers will not be part of the Auto Expo 2018.

As per the experts, the reasons behind not participation are expensive participation costs, low return on investment (ROI), lack of visitor profile to Noida and lack of new products. Some bigger brands like Man Trucks, Scania Bajaj Auto, Bajaj Auto, Triumph, Harley Davidson, Royal Enfield, Nissan, Fiat, Skoda, Volvo, Royal Enfield, Volkswagen, Man Trucks, Jeep, General Motors, Volkswagen, Ford, Audi, Chevrolet, Ford, General Motors, Harley Davidson, Scania, Fiat, Jeep, Volvo, Triumph, Audi, Skoda, Chevrolet, Nissan, will not be part of upcoming Auto Expo 2018.
