Ducati has announced its return to the legendary Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in Colorado in June this year. Next month, it is going to be the 96th edition of the race where the Italian marque will introduce the next generation model of its ADV machine Ducati Multistrada 1260. The company will compete under the leadership of riders such as Carlin Dunne, the current Ducati team record holder and Codie Vahsholtz, the current middleweight record holder for the company. And both the riders are well acquainted with the Colorado mountain course.
For many years, Ducati was holding the course record which was finally broken in 2017 by a slight margin and KTM claimed the title. Now with this team, the company is looking forward to occupying the title once again.
It’s an honour to hold the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb title as it is considered as one of the toughest races on the earth. Besides, the race with the travel distance of 19.9kms and 156 turns is also known as the Race to the Clouds that ends at mountain’s 14,115-foot summit.
To compete fiercely with the last time winner, the KTM, Ducati will go with the special Pikes Peak edition of the Multistrada 1260. The ADV is packed with all the necessary equipment that will support the bike to perform harder on the toughest track on earth. It gets Ohlins suspension setup, cornering ABS, bi-directional quick-shifter, Termignoni exhaust system in addition to several carbon-fibre elements such as the windscreen, front mudguard and the air intake covers.

Powering duties for the promising adventure tourer will be handled by Euro-IV compliant 1262cc engine that is capable of generating the peak power of 158bhp at 9500rpm along with 129.5Nm of torque at 7,500rpm.
