Fiat India has started putting the teaser videos and images of the upcoming Urban Cross on social media platform. The model has already been into rumoured about the expected arrival in the Indian market. However, the exact launch dates has not been revealed yet. But, the increased advertisements notifies that the company might be planning to introduce it soon.
The new Fiat Urban Cross is based on the Avventura platform, but offers some new redesigned and updated features. Starting with the cabin, it comes with a new touch-screen infotainment system along with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation. The company has also added an inclinometer and a high terrain gauges similar to the Avventura.At the exteriors, it gets a new bumper, larger roof rails, re-cycled fog lamps enclosure, new diamond front grille and restyled tail lamps. In order to give it a more bolder outlook, the automaker has assembled body cladding and a newly designed alloy wheels. With all these features, Fiat Urban Cross seems to be upmarket in comparison to the Avventura.
Under the hood, Urban Cross comes installed with a 1.4-litre T-jet petrol unit, also available with Abarth punto. The powermill is capable of churning out 140 Bhp of power at 5,500 rpm and 210 Nm of torque between 2000 to 4000 rpm. It comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission. As of now, We know little about other offering for the Indian-spec Urban Cross, we can only say that it shall compete against rivals like Volkswagen Cross Polo, Toyota Etios Cross and Hyundai i20 Active.
